Role Summary:

Reporting to the Projects Team Leader and working closely with the Principal Investigators and Project Leaders, the POG Project Manager will play a key role in managing research projects and grants within the context of a research culture with established policies and procedures, vision and values. The major focus of this position is to work with the Principal Investigators and Project leaders to establish the objectives, communications, milestones, and budgets for the main project and for the subprojects within POG, and to monitor, track and facilitate progress against these objectives and milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage POG pipeline processes, ensuring communication amongst the various parties and troubleshooting any deviations
  • Manage the POG molecular tumour board including bookings, discussion summaries and tracking
  • Point person for questions regarding reports and pipeline processes
  • Assist with onboarding new clinicians
  • Assist and manage data and sample access for the POG program
  • Maintain accurate tracking on case status, including associated metadata acquisition, processing, stakeholder reporting
  • Develop and maintain tracking and monitoring for subprojects
  • Recommend, develop and implement strategies for improving processes
  • Process development as needed, including design, implementation and documentation
  • Assist with clinical data capture
  • Other duties as required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proactive interactions with collaborators are a must to perform successfully in this position.

Qualifications:

While equivalencies will be considered, a degree in Science (preferably Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Computer Science) plus 5 years' recent related experience in project management and/or research development management would be ideal. Knowledge of clinical data systems, electronic medical records, and experience interpreting chart information is an asset. Ability to work independently and keep on track with data deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Type: 

Temporary Full-Time, 7.5 hrs. per day

Hybrid

Salary Range: 

$67,861 - $97,550 p.a.

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. 

Higher salary offers above the midpoint range require additional review and approval.
